Welcome! Thank you for your interest in attending the Innovative Approaches to Child Care Sustainability Grant Informational Sessions on October 18th 2023.
The Innovative Approaches to Child Care Sustainability Grant is funded via Whatcom County and City of Bellingham ARPA dollars. The grant application was initially launched in December of 2022, and after a funding the first 31 applications was placed on hold. We’re excited to announce the next application window will open on October 20th 2023. For basic grant information please check out our Innovative Approaches to Child Care Sustainability Grant page.
At our October 18th virtual information sessions we will review the ways the first wave of grants have:
- contributed to the enhancement of quality child care programming
- incentivized child care employees to meet training requirements
- improved employee wages and benefits
- contributed to staff retention and recruitment
In addition to providing examples of how the first round of grantees are making the most of this opportunity, we will also present lessons learned from the first group, important tax and payroll considerations, and answer your questions. Our goal for these informational sessions is to prepare you to submit a grant application when the application re-opens on October 20th 2023.
There will be two virtual informational sessions to chose from:
- October 18th @ 12:30 pm
- October 18th @ 6:00 pm
