The Growing Brain: The Basics of Early Brain Development
In this training from The Growing Brain series, participants will look at the developing brain of a child from pre-birth to Five years old. We will learn what parts of the brain are not fully developed, but continue to grow in size and connectivity. We will also look at how the brain grows from front to back, and how the brainstem develops through everyday functions. We will finish this training by looking at the importance of early developmental experiences for the forebrain and how adults and a surrounding carrying community will foster brain growth when the brain is most plastic.
