– CHILD CARE TERMINATION –
A family began receiving care at the provider near their home after waiting over a month for a spot to become available. After just four days, their provider terminated care, putting the mother at risk of losing her job due to lack of child care. The navigator assisted the family in finding a new provider within the same week with an opening where the child has thrived since then.
– FAMILIES IN HOMELESSNESS –
A single mother experiencing homelessness had an outstanding back bill from child care while looking for employment. Now employed, she has Working Connections Child Care Subsidy through DCYF, but they are unable to cover the back bill. Child Care Choice will pay the back bill to assist the mother in getting back on her feet and ensure that the child does not lose their placement at the center.
– FAMILIES IN CRISIS –
A single mother fled a traumatic and abusive environment causing her to have to relocate with her children, and secure employment and child care in a new place. While she awaited her employment start date, she applied for DCYF’s Working Connections Childcare Subsidy so she could find child care for her children as soon as possible. Due to her income exceeding the income limit, she was denied eligibility. Child Care Choice was able to step in and support this family.
