SUMMARY:WAPM Implementing Inclusive + Equitable Pyramid Model Practices: 1 + 2 (Pre-K) *FSKA Award Eligible*
DESCRIPTION:Positive relationships are the foundation of everything we do in early childhood. They are essential for thriving teaching teams and effective partnerships with families. Children need responsive and nurturing relationships with caregivers to be successful in the classroom. Getting to know children and their families will help educators adjust the environment to support children’s learning and growth\, align to families’ priorities and implement anti-biased and anti-racist practices. In this training we will learn more about building positive relationships\, environmental design\, schedules and routines\, transitions\, and rules and expectations. \nAll children benefit from explicitly taught social and emotional skills like friendship skills\, emotional literacy\, emotional regulation\, calming down strategies and problem solving. This training will cover the ‘what\,’ ‘when’ and ‘how’ of teaching social skills. Participants are required to attend four 2-hour virtual sessions\, and have additional independent work between those virtual sessions. \nTo earn a trauma-informed care award for completing this training\, you must have an eligible job role confirmed or verified and be employed by a subsidy provider. SUMMARY:Trauma Informed Care Modules Advanced - *May be eligible for a FSKA Trauma Informed Care Award*
DESCRIPTION:*To earn a trauma-informed care award for completing this training\, you must have an eligible job role confirmed or verified and be employed by a subsidy provider. Awards are based on available funding. Priority enrollment to Northwest Region.* \nParticipants are responsible for several hours of reading\, watching video\, and self-reflecting during independent time. Some may take more or less time to complete this independent work. Access to reliable internet\, or the ability to print the course content\, is required.  \nOur understanding of trauma continues to evolve. Integrating current research on brain development\, human development\, social work\, and physical and mental health\, and acknowledging that we live in a patriarchal and racist society\, even our definition of trauma continues to evolve. Put simply\, we might define trauma as an overwhelming threat (actual or perceived) that we don’t know how to deal with. As Dr. Gabor Maté says in the 2021 film The Wisdom of Trauma\, “Trauma is not the bad things that happen to you\, but what happens inside you as a result of what happens to you.” \nA trauma informed approach involves realizing the wide prevalence of trauma; recognizing how trauma affects individuals\, families\, generations\, and communities; and responding by putting this knowledge into practice. Informing ourselves about trauma and its effects requires study and self-reflection. It can be a challenging and painful process. It can also be inspirational and liberating. Over time\, developing a trauma informed perspective can change the way we think about ourselves and our lives and help us feel greater compassion for ourselves and others. The Trauma Informed Care modules prepare participants to adopt a trauma informed perspective in their own lives and in their work with children and families. \nThis training discusses how to work with children and caregivers who have been through difficult life experiences. Such conversations can remind us of things that have been painful or upsetting in our own lives. If you feel like now is not a good time to take this training\, it’s okay to take the training at another time. And\, if you do feel upset while taking the training\, please step away as needed to take care of yourself. It’s important to remember\, too\, that healing from trauma happens in relationships\, so you are also encouraged to reach out to a friend or a colleague for support. \nPrerequisites for this training are EQEL Year 1 or equivalent. This training is required as a prerequisite to the Trauma Informed Train-the-Trainer workshop. \nTrainers: Charlotte Zissel & Julie Wasilewski \nTraining Dates: 04/10\, 4/17\, 4/24\, 5/1\, 5/8\, 5/15  \nTraining Time: 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. \nSTARS: 27 hours  \nCore Competencies: Child Growth & Development Level 4/5 Families & Community Partnerships Level 4/5 Professional Development & Leadership Level 4/5 \nRegistration opens Monday March 17\, 2025. \n@public

SUMMARY:TIC Advanced-Módulos Avanzados de Atención Informada sobre el Trauma *Elegible para el Premio FSKA
\nTrainer: Maria Salazar \nTraining Dates: April 7\, April 21\, May 5\, May 19\, June 2\, June 16\, 2025 \nTraining Time: 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. \nSTARS: 27 hours \nRegistration opens Monday March 17\, 2025. \n@public \n

\nTrainers: Charlotte Zissel & Allie Bishop \nTraining Dates: Oct 15\, Oct 22\, Oct 29\, Nov 5\, Nov 11\, Nov 19\, 2024 \nTraining Time: 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. \nSTARS: 27 hours  \nCore Competencies: Child Growth & Development Level 4/5 Families & Community Partnerships Level 4/5 Professional Development & Leadership Level 4/5 \nRegistration Opens: Monday\, Sept. 30\, 2024
