SUMMARY:Using Music to Foster Joyful Learning\, Connection\, and Positive Classroom Communities
DESCRIPTION:Music is a powerful and joyful tool for supporting young children’s learning\, development\, and sense of belonging. In this interactive professional development session\, educators will explore practical ways to use music\, movement\, rhythm\, and creative expression to enrich routines\, ease transitions\, support classroom management\, and foster positive learning communities. \n\nGrounded in active\, hands-on learning\, this training invites participants to experience music from a child’s perspective through singing\, movement\, instrument play\, finger plays\, and collaborative participation. Expect an energetic session where we’ll motor around in our pretend vehicles\, hand-clap and high-five with partners\, drum our feelings\, tap rhythm sticks\, and create rich musical experiences together. Along the way\, educators will discover how music supports language\, cognitive\, motor\, and social-emotional development while fostering creativity and self-expression. \n\nDesigned for educators of all musical backgrounds—no musical “talent” required!—participants will leave with ready-to-use songs\, chants\, activities\, and practical strategies to create joyful\, engaging\, and musically rich learning environments. Join us for a playful\, inspiring experience! \n  \nThis free\, in-person training will be facilitated by Audrey Schwind of Music Together Fairhaven.  Please note that this training is not offered for STARS hours. This training will also be video recorded for submission to both DCYF and Music Together\, and participants will sign a photo release for the training.
