SUMMARY:NW Early Achievers Orientation
DESCRIPTION:Early Achievers is Washington State’s Quality Rating and Improvement System (QRIS)\, designed to support early learning and school-age programs in providing high-quality care that promotes children’s learning\, development\, and long-term success. Through a continuous quality improvement framework\, Early Achievers helps programs build strong foundations in teaching practices\, family engagement\, leadership\, and program management. \nEarly Achievers is designed to: \n\nSupport early learning professionals through access to coaching\, professional development\, mental health consultation\, and financial incentives such as quality improvement awards and grants.\nStrengthen program quality using research-based standards aligned with child development best practices.\nPromote school readiness by ensuring children have enriching\, inclusive\, and culturally responsive early learning experiences.\nCreate pathways for growth by guiding programs through progressive quality levels that recognize and reward continuous improvement.\n\nDuring this session\, participants will: \n\nLearn how Early Achievers works\, including levels\, ratings\, and expectations\nUnderstand the benefits of participation for both providers and families\nExplore available supports\, including coaching and financial incentives\nLearn how to get started or move forward within the Early Achievers system\n\n  \nThis session is a great opportunity for both new and current providers to ask questions\, better understand requirements\, and explore how Early Achievers can support your program’s growth and success. Please note: This session is for informational purposes only. STARS hours will not be awarded. This is intended for providers in the Northwest (NW) Region only. \nThis session will be held on Zoom on the third Thursday of every month. To accommodate different schedules\, two session times are offered: \n\n1:00 PM – 2:00 PM\n6:00 PM – 7:00 PM\n\nPlease select the session time that works best for you when registering. A Zoom invitation and meeting link will be emailed to you prior to the session.

SUMMARY:Farm to ECE: An Introduction
DESCRIPTION:Are you curious about how you can strengthen your classroom or program’s connection to food and nutrition?  Farm to ECE: An Introduction is designed to support you in finding ways to make those connections.  This training will offer a variety of ideas and practical ways to implement them\, from taste tests to gardening to field trips. \nIn this self-paced online training\, you will learn about: \nFarm to ECE\, and how it connects to meet CACFP standards and best practices\nExperience-based learning in the classroom\, garden\, and community\nStarting and maintaining a garden\, and connecting with local food sources\nEngaging families\, staff\, and the community in your Farm to ECE activities\nPlease note: This training is hosted on Canvas\, and is self-paced.  You are required to participate in discussion boards\, and will take a 7-question quiz at the end of the class to receive STARS credit in MERIT.  This class should take you approximately two hours to complete; you have until March 31\, 2026 to complete all of the content and pass the quiz.   \nThis training awards 2 STARS hours upon completion. \nAfter you register for this class\, you will be emailed instructions on how to access this class via Canvas within 2 business days.  Please note that your first confirmation email will not include those details.  You can email childcare@oppco.org with any questions you may have! \n@public
