Western Washington University’s Child Development Center (CDC) seeks an experienced Assistant Teacher to work with 2-5 year old learners in a vigorous and growing campus-based program. This is a 9.5 month position with an excellent benefits package. We value child-led exploratory play, development of social, physical, and intellectual self-reliance within a group setting, creative inquiry-based learning in the classroom and in our natural surroundings, and the positive development of self within a nurturing, tolerant, culturally sensitive and justice led environment. This position works directly with the Lead Teacher to implement program and curriculum goals, trains and mentors student employees assisting in the classroom, and supports pre-service teachers during practicum and internship opportunities.
