Positive relationships are the foundation of everything we do in early childhood. They are essential for thriving teaching teams and effective partnerships with families. Children need responsive and nurturing relationships with caregivers to be successful in the classroom. Getting to know children and their families will help educators adjust the environment to support children’s learning and growth, align to families’ priorities and implement anti-biased and anti-racist practices. In this training we will learn more about building positive relationships, environmental design, schedules and routines, transitions, and rules and expectations.
All children benefit from explicitly taught social and emotional skills like friendship skills, emotional literacy, emotional regulation, calming down strategies and problem solving. This training will cover the ‘what,’ ‘when’ and ‘how’ of teaching social skills.
To earn a trauma-informed care award for completing this training, you must have an eligible job role confirmed or verified and be employed by a subsidy provider. Awards are based on available funding.
