Address:The Spotlight Film Festival Series in Mt. Vernon features four separate documentaries that shine a light on topics important to our community.
This session will be based on the review the movie, Unseen, a feature-length documentary film that brings public attention to the topic of stress on parent caregivers with developmentally delayed or disabled children. We will reflect on the powerful stories about challenges parents and caregivers face with children who have special needs. We will discuss the importance of early detection and screening and a child care provider’s role. This film reveals how our country is failing caregivers and their children with unique needs and how we can support them.
Participants will be able to discuss their reaction to the film, and discuss action steps on what we can do about getting the message across to our community on how developmental screening in early care and education should be a top priority.
Suggested donation at the door.
