Preventing Suspension and Expulsion in Early Learning is a series with six 2-hour sessions (15 STARS hours) that will support proactive practices for young children and reduce challenging behaviors that may result in a suspension or expulsion. Trainings will address implicit bias, teach new skills, and support the understating of what is developmentally appropriate for the children they care for. Free materials and books will be provided for immediate use after each training.
At this time, the Suspension and Expulsion Training Series is only offered to Family Childcare Providers enrolled in Early Achievers and located in Snohomish, Skagit, Whatcom, Island, or San Juan County. The orientation is required to enroll in the training series.
Registration deadline extended to July 29, 2022.
Child Care Aware IECMHC (Mental Health Team) and Infant Toddler Consultants will also support participants by providing resources that focus on the resilience and mental health of providers caring for children in our communities.
If you have more questions prior to enrolling, please contact your Early Learning Coach or reach out to Ashley Stalder or Charlotte Zissel for more information.
